Incoming New Zealand coach Scott Robertson has reportedly been told by incumbent Ian Foster to avoid the All Blacks’ World Cup matches, as he’s “too big a distraction” .
This is according to former All Blacks scrumhalf Justin Marshall, who was speaking with ex-Springbok flanker Schalk Burger on SuperSport in his current role as an analyst.
Foster will be succeeded post-World Cup this year by Robertson, who was in France to follow the tournament, before Newstalk ZB host James Daniels announced that the 49-year-old and his wife, Jane, have returned to New Zealand.
The All Blacks face Uruguay in Lyon on Thursday night in their final Pool A match.

It is understood that ‘Razor’ is currently not welcome in the Kiwi camp, suggesting that there’s basis to talk of friction between him and ‘Fozzy’.
“Can I tell you something really interesting, Scott Robertson has been here in France. You would have seen him. He’s been floating around,” Marshall said.
“He’s not allowed to be at All Blacks games. They feel he’s too big a distraction to the current players. All of a sudden they might want to chat to him or might want to impress him, so Ian Foster said to him… he’s not being allowed at All Blacks games.”
