The world champion Springboks will blank reigning Six Nations champs Ireland with back-to-back Test wins in the upcoming series in Pretoria and Durban.
Fresh off a season-opening win against Wales, the world champions are headed home to host Ireland in a two-Test series.
The last time these teams met was at the 2023 Rugby World Cup where Ireland came away 13-8 winners in a tight group stage clash to extend their current streak over South Africa to three wins.
A poll run by SARugbymag.co.za asked readers for to predict the upcoming series, which gets underway next Saturday at a sold-out Loftus Versfeld.
An overwhelming 66% backed the Springboks to whitewash Ireland in the series, the first between the two teams since 2016.
Another 30% said that the Springboks would at least end their three-game losing streak against the Emerald Greens, predicting a shared series between the Test juggernauts.
Only 3% of readers said that Ireland would extend their winning run over South Africa to five Tests in a row, by claiming a series victory.
