Cameron Hanekom is set to miss the opportunity to make his Test debut when the Springboks host Ireland in July, after suffering an injury in the Vodacom URC final.
The Vodacom Bulls’ breakthrough star limped off in early in the second half of the URC final against Glasgow Warriors on Saturday night and was replaced by veteran Nizaam Carr.

In his first URC season, Hanekom has starred for the Bulls, playing a key role in helping Jake White’s team secure a home final.
With Jasper Wiese suspended for the series between the Springboks and Ireland next month, Hanekom has been spoken about as a potential replacement and would have made his Test debut if given the call.
However, the 22-year-old injured his hamstring and is unlikely to recover in time for the two-Test series, which gets underway at Loftus Versfeld next Saturday.
Rassie Erasmus is set to name the squad for the series on Tuesday, following a successful first outing of the year against Wales at Twickenham.
